Ground & Grow

where peace and play take root
Ground & Grow is a gentle and joyful class that invites children and their caregivers to slow down, connect with nature, and explore mindful movement side by side. We’ll blend yoga, nature play, creative expression, and seasonal rhythms to support self-awareness, emotional regulation, and connection.
Whether you're stretching under the pines or listening to your breath beside a stream, Ground & Grow offers a chance for you and your child to recharge together.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN CLASS
Each week we explore a nature-inspired theme through playful, creative, and often delightfully silly experiences. Ground & Grow is a relaxed and welcoming space where wiggly bodies, big feelings, and wild imaginations are celebrated. We invite families to come as they are, all energy levels and attention spans are welcome here.
We move through the following elements in a way that feels gentle, joyful, and developmentally appropriate:
Gentle Yoga and Breathwork
Simple, nature-themed poses and calming breaths help us tune into our bodies and the world around us. We often add animal sounds or silly shapes to keep things fun.
Mindful Games and
Sensory Play
Interactive and engaging activities support focus and emotional regulation while keeping things light, flexible, and fun.
Nature Connection and Reflection
We make time to wander, wonder, and notice what’s happening around us, from the crunch of leaves underfoot to the warmth of the sun on our faces.
Creative Expression and Process Art
Open-ended art invitations give children space to express themselves freely using natural materials, colors, and their own imagination.
Why Mindfulness in Nature?
Both children and adults benefit from the tools of mindfulness. Practicing together in nature can help:
-
Improve focus and executive function in children
-
Lower stress and anxiety levels for everyone
-
Support emotional regulation, empathy, and resilience
-
Strengthen the bond between caregivers and children
“The best predictor of a child’s ability to self-regulate is the presence of a regulated adult.” – Dr. Stuart Shanker
